One of our objectives as a Chamber is to provide you with more access to elected officials. Throughout the year, the Chamber provides several opportunities for members to engage legislators from the Northeast Delegation. These opportunities include:

Legislative Preview: Attend the Chamber's Annual Legislative Preview held before the beginning of session to learn about issues that will be discussed during the 2010 General Assembly. Hear straight from members of the Northeast Indiana Delegation as they prepare for the upcoming budget session. Legislative Preview date to be announced.

Third House Forums: Be aware and understand issues and policy that affect Northeast Indiana by attending the Chamber's 3rd House Forums. These forums will provide you with an update on both the legislative climate in the Statehouse, and how the Chamber's business issues are faring in the process. Legislators of the Northeast Indiana Delegation are available to take questions and respond to your concerns. These forums take place on the 3rd Saturday of the month from 10:30 a.m. to noon during the legislative session.

Chamber Day at the Statehouse: Travel to Indianapolis to see the Indiana General Assembly in action. Watch session, committee hearings, and get a first-hand look at the legislative process. Have lunch with Northeast Indiana Legislators and see how the Chamber advocates for your business. Look for this event to be posted on the Chamber Calendar for the 2010 Session.

Legislative Recap Breakfast: Following session, the Chamber hosts a Legislative Recap Breakfast providing members the opportunity to hear how the Chamber Legislative Agenda faired during session. You will also hear from the Northeast Delegation on policy that was passed or did not pass through the General Assembly.

"Business does not exist in a vacuum.  Decisions made at the local and state levels have a dramatic effect on the environment in which business and industry operate. Business leaders must be engaged in public policy debates in order to insure that Northeast Indiana remains a great place to live, work and raise a family. The Fort Wayne Chamber provides an ideal forum for business to learn about and influence public policy in Indiana. The Chamber recognizes the need for its members to have their voice heard by policy makers and goes to great lengths to create opportunities for those conversations to take place. The Fort Wayne Chamber is an invaluable resource that allows business and government to interact so that together we can build a bright future for Northeast Indiana."
