Annual Legislative Preview

Event Description:

The Chamber and the Northeast Indiana Chamber Coalition (NEICC) host the annual Legislative Preview on Wednesday, December 9 from 5:30 -7:30 p.m. at the Chamber of Commerce. We will present our 2010 State Legislative Agenda as well as hear from our legislative delegation on what to expect for the upcoming session beginning January 5. We will also hear from the State Chamber on their legislative priorities.

The Chamber’s Legislative Agenda is crafted by Chamber committees and approved by the Board of Directors. The Agenda is a working document by which the Chamber and NEICC measure bills during the legislative session. Chamber priorities for the 2010 session include:

  • Local Government Reform
  • Economic Development Incentive Flexibility
  • Promoting a Globally Competitive Tax Climate  (including within the property tax and unemployment insurance systems)
  • Providing Employers Greater Latitude to Make Wage Deductions.
The Legislative Preview is a great way for you to stay informed on legislation that impacts your business. You will also enjoy cocktails and hors d’oeuvres. Cost is only $10 for Chamber and NEICC members, $20 for non-members.
