The Athena Award program celebrates exceptional individuals who have achieved excellence in their profession, have served the community in a meaningful way and have assisted women in their attainment of professional goals and leadership skills.
The prestigious ATHENA Award honors individuals who demonstrate excellence, creativity, and initiative in their business or profession, who provide valuable service by contributing time and energy to improve the quality of life for others in the community, and who actively assist women in realizing their full leadership potential.
The ATHENA Young Professional Award honors emerging women leaders who demonstrate excellence, creativity, and initiative in her business or profession, provides valuable service to improve the quality of life for others in her community, and clearly serves as a role model for young women both personally and professionally.

Industry to Educators Externship
Summer 2012
The Industry to Educators Externship program provides Northeast Indiana high school educators with the opportunity to learn about STEM-related careers and industries in the region.
This ground-breaking experience equips teachers to provide a superior classroom experience with real-world problems and provide students with a solid education in math and science. It facilitates shared experiences between local educators, provides teachers with valuable industry connections for classroom speaking and career advising, and encourages collaboration between school administrators and local leadership.

Monthly during session
The Chamber’s Issue Forums will provide Chamber members “insider information” on the hottest topics at the Statehouse.

Links 4 Leaders

A golf game often sets the perfect tone for business deals. In recognition of this, the Greater Fort Wayne Chamber of Commerce has partnered with Pine Valley Country Club to host its first annual Links 4 Leaders golf event on Monday, June 4, 2012.
Golfers may sign up as individuals or as a foursome; individual golfers will be grouped into foursomes. Each foursome in the golf scramble is paired with a northeast Indiana business leader. Golfers can enjoy a leisurely day on the course and make valuable business connections at the same time.

Chamber Golf School
Need to brush up on your golf skills or even start from square one? The Chamber Golf School, which will run concurrently with the Chamber Classic scramble, features high-quality, small-group instruction from PGA pros and will give new golfers a wide range of instruction. Seasoned golfers also can improve their game for a fraction of what individual lessons would cost.
Students will join Pine Valley Pro Mike Ahlers and Chamber President Mike Landram for an afternoon of golf lessons unlike any you will receive. Golf School students will learn the rules, etiquette, as well as the dos and don’ts of client golf. You’ll also perfect your long game, short game, chipping, and putting. Later in the day, you’ll put those skills to work in a mini tournament with your fellow students. Chamber Golf School provides you several weeks’ worth of lessons in one afternoon.

Quarterly
Chamber Summits are full-day events that offer in-depth education on topics that are relevant to a majority of our members. Past topics include Nonprofit Education, Women’s Business Summit, Sales Summit, and Networking/Social Media Summit. Summits showcase a minimum of three topic experts and include a networking breakfast and lunch. Summits are from 7:30 a.m.-4:00 p.m. and are held quarterly.

Taste of The Chamber

The annual Taste of the Chamber is The Chamber’s most festive and one of the most popular events of the year. Guests are treated to food and beverage sampling from member restaurants and caterers and a tour of the historic Chamber of Commerce building as its dressed in its holiday best. Five hundred guests tour The Chamber on this festive night, providing sponsors and vendors exceptional exposure.

Floor Sponsors receive recognition in all printed materials, electronic media, and signage. Additionally, Floor Sponsors receive 10 tickets for the event and a booth on their sponsored floor. TechCamp
Summer 2012
This newly developed program will kick off in the summer of 2012 with area high school sophomore and junior students applying to participate in a week-long externship-style camp designed to connect them to Northeast Indiana employers and learn more about career options in this region. These camps will provide the opportunity for young people to gain valuable skills in teamwork, problem solving, critical thinking, and much more while competing on teams to develop solutions to real-world problems.

TechFest
March 10, 2012
This full day of tournament-style video gaming, a problem solving competition, technology demonstrations, information from area colleges and universities about majors related to STEM, and presentations by area professionals about career opportunities in the region drew about 100 Northeast Indiana High School students, parents, educators, and volunteers. The vision for this event is to establish a model of cooperation between business and educators — working together to identify, nurture, train, employ, and retain the area’s best and brightest talent.

The Third House is a forum for the Northeast Indiana legislative delegation to report on their activity at the statehouse and to speak with Chamber members regarding issues that directly affect their business. It is a unique opportunity to get to know your state legislators and share your thoughts on policies that concern you.
